A well preserved castle sited on the south shore of the estuary of the River Clyde. Built in 1478 by George Maxwell when he inherited the Barony of Finlanstone(Finlaystone) in the parish of Kilmacolm.

Unfortunately closed for repairs but we were there in off season so not entirely unexpected! It looked interesting from the outside though!

I your GPS is google-based don't believe it. Nc is Not in gourock. Drive the A8 towards dunbarton and you will see the sign after the big tesco.
